Over the past two years I have been using the RunKeeper iPhone app to keep track of my running. I have really enjoyed using RunKeeper and it has been a useful tool for mapping my runs and keeping track of my progress.
I have recently replaced the RunKeeper iPhone app with a Garmin Forerunner watch to track my running and in doing so, I wanted to add my running data to RunKeeper so that all of my data is saved in the same place.
I had heard that you RunKeeper can automatically upload data from Garmin watches, so I headed over to give it a try. I selected Post New Activity, selected Running as my activity type and hit the next button. On the next screen I chose Import Map and RunKeeper gave me the option of importing from my Garmin device. The website found and connected to my Forerunner 110, however, said that there was a problem importing the data. After searching around to see if other people had received a similar error message, it appears that there is a problem with RunKeeper importing from the Forerunner 110.
I eventually found a workaround for importing my Garmin data to RunKeeper and thought I would share how I did it -
- Download Garmin Training Center Software from Garmin.com
- Import your Garmin data into the Training Center
- Choose the activity that you wish to import to RunKeeper and right-click on it within Training Center
- Select the Export option and save the file to your computer as a .GPX file
- Now head to RunKeeper and choose Post New Activity > Select your activity type > Select Import Map and then Import from a GPX or TCX file
You should now be able to post your Garmin Forerunner activities to RunKeeper.

Thank you so much for your help, it was very helpful
